For Lady Justice Initiative, this means powering more women in law to lead

When we interviewed 100+ women legal tech founders and innovation leaders, we
discovered a pattern: many left traditional legal roles in search of greater opportunity—to
lead at a higher level, deepen their impact, gain flexibility, and bring innovations to life.
These women are now building the new era of law, harnessing AI to make legal services
more accessible, courts more efficient, and education more effective. As AI transforms
the sector, women across law have an opportunity to join them in leading the new era.
Supporting them isn’t just about equity. It’s essential to maximizing AI’s potential to solve
complex legal problems, accelerate innovation, catalyze professional opportunity for
women in law, and design new era workplaces that meet their needs.
We also believe that new systems and solutions must be built to make justice
“native” not an afterthought. The AI systems being built today will determine who can
access legal help, how disputes are resolved, and whether new systems and solutions
can close current gaps and meet peoples legal needs. Without deliberate action, tools
may replicate existing shortcomings and inequities rather than remedy them. Justice
must be embedded in the architecture from the start.
These imperatives are interconnected. Women in legal tech are already creating
solutions that expand access, challenge bias, and center the needs of underserved
communities. Expanding women’s leadership is essential to ensuring that justice is
native in what gets built.
This is why Lady Justice Initiative is building the infrastructure for women’s leadership in
the AI era of law, and working to ensure justice is embedded in the systems, institutions,
and solutions now being created.
