Lex 2X™: Empowering Women, Transforming Law

Women across the globe confront numerous hurdles as professionals in the legal field and in meeting their unique legal and justice needs. Limited access to legal information or representation can preclude women from accessing their legal rights. Women working to change this encounter challenges too. Many with new ideas meet resistance to change within their organizations and communities.

Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technology in the justice and legal sectors are creating unprecedented opportunities for women to lead the development of new systems, solutions, and products as well as these emerging fields. Technology, for example, can enable women to gain awareness of legal rights, explore options, and choose solutions to meet their legal needs, fostering agency. However, there is also potential for technology and other innovation to amplify the current disparities that women face. Dedicated action is required to ensure that artificial intelligence and other technology-based tools are gender transformative and that their full potential to empower women is realized.

Our Lex 2X initiative works to unlock promise of technology and innovation to empower women in law.  Designed to champion women in legal and justice innovation, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, the initiative works to position women at the heart of digital transformation as leaders in shaping the future of the legal and justice sectors. By leading the building of the future of these sectors, women can gain leadership roles and derive economic benefits from entrepreneurial opportunities, while creating more effective and inclusive solutions that meet the needs of all users. Our goal is to create a world where women in law are empowered to drive change at every level and all women have access to legal and justice solutions tailored to their unique needs.
